Fall Fashion Trend 2012: Hunter Green

Hunter green has been popping up all over the red carpet, from Octavia Spencer's elegant Tadashi Shoji dress, to Scarlett Johansson's smoldering Emilio Pucci, to Salma Hayek's floaty Hervé L Leroux number. Whether moss, olive or emerald, these richly saturated green hues look amazing on all skin tones and fit the mood of fall so perfectly.

Here are some hunter green pieces under $100 to help you get the look:

1. ELLE peplum jacket, $50.40 (down from $72)
Kohl's sent me this jacket and I was really impressed with the quality of the faux leather and the fit. The nuanced color and peplum detail make it feel modern and more expensive than it actually is. I paired mine with dark skinny jeans, leopard flats and an oversized gold chain necklace. Try code SHOPGIFTS to get 15% off orders over $50 plus free shipping thru Nov. 6.

2. Love 21 hunter green pintucked pants, $24.80 at forever21.com
This is THE pant look of the season. I have two pairs (from Target) and have yet to wear them but recently discovered they look sleek with a simple peplum top and pointy-toe pumps.

3. Mossimo hedge green blazer, $29.99 at target.com
Update your office-to-cocktails routine with this sharp blazer in a gemstone shade of green. Pair with a crisp white buttondown or a black camisole and statement necklace.

4. Emerald and gold necklace, $24 at shoppublik.com
Tap into the trend with this opulent necklace that will elevate any outfit instantly.

5. Deborah Lippmann "Billionaire" nail lacquer, $16 at barneys.com
This moody hunter green nail polish is muted enough for work yet intriguing enough to have all your friends saying, "I love your nails!" Try Orly Enchanted Forest for a budget dupe.

6. Lace hunter green dress, $80 at dressbarn.com
This elegant dress will make you the center of attention at gatherings that call for class (like the annual holiday office party).

i love hunter green - it's really hard to find clothing in the perfect shade of green though, it can sometimes come off looking a bit bad 90's.

I love that lace dress! I was just at Macy's, and their INC line was full of green.

@K good to know. I was just at JCPenney yesterday and the MNG by Mango collection had a lot of tasteful hunter green pieces as well!
