While I did visit the store near me on the day the sale opened, I didn't actually buy anything in person (try shopping with two little guys age 3 years and 8 months and you'll understand!), but that didn't stop me from ordering a ton of stuff online. Yes, free shipping and free returns make for the perfect mom-friendly shopping experience! I actually really enjoy using the Nordstrom app, too. It's almost too easy, as you'll see! Much of my shopping was fueled by some serious FOMO (that stands for" fear of missing out", for all you kids over 30). There's so much hype surrounding the #NSALE, especially in the blogosphere, that I simply could not, would not, be left out! Are there other great deals to be had elsewhere? Of course. Do you need to buy your fall wardrobe in July? Certainly not. But if you want to save on brand names, this is undeniably an amazingly fun event and the deals abound in every department, from clothing to beauty. So let's get this party started!

Tops: I went super basic and ordered some t-shirts that have oodles of 5-star ratings and are often seen on all the top fashion bloggers. If they work for them, they must work for me, right?!

Accessories: Nothing too crazy here, just a plaid square scarf (I have a ton of rectangular scarves and they're impossible to tie just right), some everyday stud earrings, a watch, and Sperry duck boots which should come in handy here in New England. After I placed my order I got an email the following day saying the bag I ordered is sold out. I called Customer Service and they told me they could reorder the bag for me but that it was on backorder until August. Fine, I said. Well today I got another email saying my order has been canceled yet again. I called, again, and this time they found the bag for me in stock at a store in New Jersey. I was instructed to call the store and order it but so far, no one is picking up in that department. So we shall see if I ever do end up getting this bag!

Jeans: I was practical and looked at the holes in my closet, scanned my Pinterest inspiration boards, and settled on a pair of white jeans, black jeans, olive jeans, and another pair of distressed blue jeans. After baby two, I can't wear many of my old pants, so I literally did not have any of these closet staples. I know I'll get a ton of wear out of all these styles. I just hope the white jeans fit as my size was sold out, so I went with one size down. Wishful thinking, perhaps?

So that's it! I'm sorry if this isn't awfully exciting. The one thing I did not buy but wanted were some ankle boots, but I wasn't loving the selection. I need a low almost flat heel that I can run around in all day. I also didn't love all the suede options because I'm afraid I'll wreck them, although I could just try using Scotchguard as some of you have recommended to me in the past.
