This time last year I shared fall fashion highlights at Walmart (here), and it was one of my most popular posts ever! I went back yesterday to scope out this season's fashions and round up my top finds for 2016. So let's get started: My favorite plaid shirts by Faded Glory are back, easily one of my top picks because they wash and wear so well (easily as good as the BP plaid shirt I got last year at Nordstrom if not better, and better than my plaid shirts from H&M, to give you some point of reference for quality). I don't know why these are out of stock online, but check your local store. Mine had plenty. These are nice, too, in a slightly lighter weight fabric (which can be good or bad depending on what you're going for).
The plaid scarves that created such a stir last year on my Instagram are also back - I can't recommend these enough! Yesterday I picked up a black/burgundy one to add to my collection for $9.97 (looks like they're up one dollar from last year's price of $8.97). It's super soft and big. I've seen identical scarves go for between $20-$40 elsewhere. Just note that it's a long rectangular scarf, not a square blanket scarf. Honestly I'm sitting here comparing my Walmart scarf with my Nordstrom BP scarf (which I got during the Anniversary Sale) and I can't tell the difference...the quality, size, fabric, country of origin, all seem identical.
I also spotted some cute sweaters with serious potential, although I didn't get to try any on. But this one was soft, not scratchy, and looked great in the merlot. There were two other v-neck sweaters that were really soft and would look great with leggings and tall boots but of course I'm having trouble finding them online, so you'll have to just rely on my in-store photos. (Sorry!) This boho top also looked super cute - I like the dark green one styled with white jeans.
An unexpected highlight this year is a No Boundaries tassel crossbody bag for $18.97 ($12.04 at walmart.com) that looks super chic and rivals styles that cost twice as much elsewhere. Choose from gray, tan or a faded burgundy hue. So good. Also, the reversible totes are still around and look super luxe for the price. A must-have.
If you've noticed a theme, it's that the Faded Glory line is my favorite and seems to have the best quality and styles. Some of the juniors dresses and sweaters were itchy and in poor taste, to be frank.
