Richard Chai for Target Now in Stores

The Richard Chai for Target collection is now available in stores and online. I apologize for not posting a review but I'm leaving for my cruise on Saturday and still have so much to do beforehand. Anyways, so far, I've heard really good things--have you bought anything yet? What do you think of the collection? Which pieces stand out, which ones should we avoid? Spare no detail, ladies, let's hear it all in the comments!

I have to say, I was a little disappointed. The plaid trench is screened and not woven plaid, as are the skirt and shorts. The cotton/jersey tops left something to be desired both in fit and styling, and the dresses were cut interestingly but looked cheaper than their tags. I came close to buying the white snap front linen looking shirt (not pictured above?) but decided I could do better both in fit and fabric at Marshalls or The Rack. I'm not sure if my Target is carrying the entire line, or if they will be releasing it in "chunks" as they sometimes do. I really wanted to like the collection too...

I was actually pleasantly surprised. Maybe we have to readjust our expectations a bit - we'll never get the same quality at Target that we would in the designer's original line, but compared to recent Go International collaborations, the Richard Chai line is much more wearable.

I bought the geometric print racerback tank top in black, and I'm planning on going back for possibly one of the black dresses and the cobalt blue and gray satin miniskirt. The cuts are very structured and therefore look much more polished than other GO pieces I've seen. They are actually very flattering and can be worn together without looking deliberately overstyled and funky. I dig. I hope it's a sign of increasingly better collections.

I bought the dress with the blue rose print. Love love love it! beautifully made and fits well, even in the Juniors sizing, which can be wonky on normal girls.

this collection has certainly caught my attention and apparently you need to wear peep-toes with all of these looks! i'm really feeling the white top with blue embroidery...so summery!

i also got the dress with the blue rose print. normally i wouldnt even spend $40 on a dress, but i found it to be wonderfully tailored in the front and the waist. the cut and darts make my waist look super tiny! i normally wear a 3 or 4 but bought the size 1. plus, i can never resist a dress or skirt with pockets.
the dress that ties in the front feels like its made of that parachute material. its an interesting cut though.
a big fan of the short shorts. the material is heavier and the tailoring is also interesting. if i didn't have the thunder thighs that prevent me from wearing any sort of shorts, i would have totally bought these.
the rest of the jersey pieces are overpriced. you can get similar things from target's junior brand xhilaration, or even forever21, for much cheaper for the same quality. gonna wait until the collection goes on clearance. couldn't wait for the blue dress, though. it's that good!

I think this is better of all Go Intl collections. Better by quality/ I'm not sure about design. Love the plaid jacket.

target's a bit touch-and-go where their 'designer' collections are concerned. a girl i work with had a gorgeous grey pleated skirt and it's an isaac mizrahi from target and you'd never know it - definitely up-market looking. you just have to remember that it's probably good for one season and anything after that's an extra. got a pair of skinny cropped pants 3 yrs ago there for 11.99 on sale and am still wearing them so that's REALLY a deal. other things have hit the rag pile after 3 washes.
it's still a great place to shop where value for money is concerned, compared to the competition (4ever21 - great knockoffs but cheap cheap cheap in quality - way too much synthetics; kmart and wal-mart - nope, won't go there; or kohl's -
comparable in that you can get great buys for the money, but buyer beware.).
