Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: What I Bought + Outfit Ideas

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale picks each under $100 fashion blogger
If you've been on or near a computer or cell phone today, then you know it's Nordstrom Anniversary Sale time! I didn't make it to the store (hour away) but I managed to place an order during naptime. And now I'm trying to squeeze in a blog post to share what I bought plus some outfit ideas for those of you still navigating the sale! After all, early access just started today but continues through July 20th when the sale will open up to everyone, no card needed. I've learned popular items do sell out quickly. I had this blush cardigan in my cart but was too slow to click "buy" and now it's already sold out. Ouch. So let's focus on what's still available because there's a lot of goodness to go around, and lots of affordable picks. All of mine are under $100.

Cardigans

I knew I wanted some cardigans because I pretty much live in layers during the fall and winter. I always have the hardest time finding certain colors like camel/tan and burgundy. So I pounced on this Leith cardigan, this BP cardigan, and this cardigan by Dreamers by Debut. Can't wait to cozy up in these!

Shoes

I bought two more pairs of ankle boots for my arsenal: These block heel booties in taupe sport suede and these perforated ankle boots in New Foxy. I hope these are comfortable. I think they'll go with everything in my closet.

In outfit 2 above, I added these leopard mules - how awesome are they?! Couldn't justify getting them for myself but you certainly should. :-)

Jewelry & Accessories

I went back and forth on this Kendra Scott filigree pendant. I liked it when I saw it in the catalog. But $50 for a pendant?? Ultimately I bought it because I think it'll add a nice pop to many, many outfits for seasons to come. I hope it's nice quality for the price. If it holds up, it will be well worth the extra cost (I'm used to paying $30 tops for costume jewelry).

Then I impulse purchased this leopard scarf. For $12 it's a no-brainer!

I didn't buy any bags because as beautiful as they look in outfit photos, I don't really use them. I actually carry a faux leather backpack and that's all I really need - it's perfect for parks, museums, play dates, you name it! I contemplated getting this Sole Society backpack but I'm not sure how I feel about the color. The jury is still out!

T-Shirts and Jeans

As I visualize my outfits coming together, I made sure to add a few essential basics that I needed to update or replace in my closet, so I got a slouchy white v-neck tee (one of the top selling items last year), and a scoop neck tunic in burgundy. It's hard not to go overboard with so many items under $25 - it's like fast-fashion pricing, but with Nordstrom's free shipping and generous return policy to go with it. They've made some changes recently to their famously lenient return policy but it's still outstanding (watch the video in this Hello Giggles post for more on that).

I also got a pair of jeans from new-to-me brand Articles of Society - they get great reviews and cost under $40! I actually needed a new pair of jeans without any ripping or distressing, so I scooped up this pair. After the sale these go up to $59!

I will post updates here and on my Instagram once my items arrive. I'm already filling up my cart with more items but for my first pass, I stuck to my budget and I'm happy with my picks. Just hope everything fits and looks good IRL!

Here are more items I think you'll love: Madewell Utility Jacket, J.Crew Pardon My French Tee (just $25), Striped Pocket Tee, Twill Peplum Jacket and Converse Shoreline Sneakers (just $35.90...should I just get these already?!).

Are you shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale? What did you buy already? I never buy beauty items. Should I?! Let me know!
