It may seem early but I decided to test out some of the hottest toys before the holidays and share my finds with you! These would be excellent choices for an upcoming birthday or other special occasion, too. I found all of these on Walmart under $30, and would recommend these for ages 4 to 9 (but of course kids of all ages can enjoy! I personally love kinetic sand, it's so relaxing and oddly satisfying.)

So first up is this Monkey See Monkey Poo board game; you mold monkey "poo" out of dough then hurl it at a tree filled with bananas. Knock the bananas down to move your monkey piece up the tree. First one to finish the climb wins. Yes, it's silly but got a lot of laughs. My 10 year old helped set it up and instructed his siblings on the rules; my 5 year old and I played for at least 30 minutes, she loved the catapult aspect.
Next, we are a Lego loving family (we even went to Legoland recently, so much fun!) so this Penguin Slushy Van is a great addition to anyone's collection. Building is half the fun of course! Lots of cool details and pieces. Legos can be pricey so I was excited to find this nearly 200-piece set for just $15.99!
I also tested out this Transformers Bumblebee 2-in-1 mask; it is now marked down to $26.50 which is a better deal. While I had trouble transforming the mask into a robot and back again, my husband did not LOL. Oh well! Gives the kids something to work on, or just have fun with imaginative play.
Finally, as I mentioned, I love kinetic sand and so do the kids. Just keep it in the tray! Haha! This deluxe beach castle set has 2.5 pounds of the stuff, plus 9 fun tools. Hours of fun. Comes in an easy to store container, too, which I appreciate.
