Off the Rack: New Spring Styles at Forever 21

Forever 21 fashions are in for spring.
Yesterday I went to Forever 21 to return this oversized denim jacket I had purchased online. It looked so cool on the model, but on me it looked like something my school bus driver might have worn in the '80s. Trends, amiright.

While we're on the subject of returns, you may not have known that Forever 21 recently updated their return policy! The new return policy offers customers a full refund to their original form of payment within 30 days from the date of purchase. If I'm not mistaken, previously you had 21 days and would receive store credit.

So back to the story at hand: I was able to return my online purchase and I picked out a new denim jacket (here) that's still oversized - which is the look right now - but a bit shorter and better for my frame. I also scooped up a leopard coat for $12.99 plus an extra 30% off. Thank you Daily Style Finds for making me suddenly crave more leopard!

Ok, so here's what to look for this spring: As I touched on briefly in this post, sweet & sporty looks are huge - think pastel hoodies, sweatpants, crop tops, bodysuits, and denim.

Bomber jackets are still huge as are fit and flare skirts but now they're being styled with a modern rockabilly vibe (thank you 3.1 Phillip Lim for that).

I also saw lots of peasant tops and floral prints for that boho life, as well as camo print jackets (I own and love this one) and patchwork denim for that squad life.

If you make a trip to Forever 21, I recommend checking out the accessories and lightweight jackets for spring, as well as these must-have mules...yellow is my favorite! They come in 5 great colors and for just $24.90, these need to be in your closet.

Throwback Thursday: Jessica Biel's Floral Dress and Blazer Look for Less

Follow this outfit formula to style any floral or print dress for day or night.
Who else remembers this Jessica Biel look from 2010?! The bold floral print paired with all-black extras made a lasting impression on my mind and I think it looks just as fresh today as it did back then.

Jessica follows an easy outfit formula you can use to style just about any floral/print dress: Toss on a black blazer (a wardrobe essential), add black sandals (but really you could even wear ankle boots, loafers, mules, you name it) and a classic chain strap purse (these never go out of style!)

I actually found quite a few dresses under $44 by the under-the-radar brand Belle + Sky at JCPenney that would be perfect for this outfit! I used a modern cold-shoulder dress to style my "look for less" but rounded up 6 more dresses that would work, too.

With spring events just around the corner, a floral midi dress is a must-have. Wear it to brunch, wear it for Easter, wear it to work, the possibilities are endless!

Shop my look for less picks below including 6 more Belle + Sky dresses from just $29.99!

Off the Rack: Easter Decor at Walmart

Easter decor has arrived at Walmart.
After I checked out the spring fashions at Walmart, we swung by the Easter decor aisle which is already brimming with candies, baskets, and every bunny/carrot/egg themed item you could possibly imagine. I liked the old-timey decor items with a vintage, homemade feel the best, like a little twigs and raffia rabbit, or a door sign that said 'Happy Easter' in brown and orange burlap.

My kids gravitated towards the items in the brightest, most unnatural neon colors imaginable, but somehow I managed to convince them that organic fruit snacks were a better shopping reward than Trolls (the movie) plastic Easter eggs (because we all think of Trolls when we think of Easter...?). Score one for Mom! Check out my pics below to see if there's anything cute you'll be adding to your spring festivities - most items were priced between just $3 and $15.
