Dollar Bin Diaries: Valentine's Day Hits Target

Dollar Bins at Target always have the cutest stuff!

In case you're suffering from those post-holiday blues, cheer up, because Target (and many other retailers) have already made Christmas 2014 a distant memory and have moved on to Valentine's Day 2015! I couldn't help but smile when I spotted the pink, red and white goodies that filled the dollar aisle at my local Target. The chalkboard trend is still going strong on stickers, cupcake toothpick signs, pennant banners, chalkboard easels and more. Much like chevron, I'm a sucker for anything chalkboard #notoverityet. They've also got the cutest Valentine's Day cards for just $1 a piece, you can't go wrong. I picked up the card above - doesn't it look like Papyrus or Kate Spade?! Super chic. I also scored some pyramid shaped tacks to add some style to my corkboard (I'm convinced this single purchase will help me be more organized in the New Year! A girl can dream). Scroll down to see what other goodies I spotted in the dollar aisle - what's tempting you?

Also, diehard Target fans should follow me on Twitter and Instagram - we've been invited to a special press event tomorrow in NYC where Target will announce their next designer collab. We'll be the first to tell you who it is!

Splurge vs. Steal: Burberry Check Print Scarf

Burberry scarf look for less

It's a classic that never goes out of style, and always commands a hefty pricetag: Burberry's classic check scarf. The wool and silk version above is $395 at Nordstrom.com. However, I recently spotted a lookalike by Fraas at a gift shop and was wowed by the quality and softness. It's the best look for less I've seen in a while, and you can buy them online for under $30...because saving money is timeless, too!

Splurge: Burberry Giant Check Print Wool & Silk Scarf, $395
Steal: Fraas Cashmink Scarf, $25.20 at stagestores.com

Get inspired to style your Burberry plaid scarf with a moto jacket like Serena from Gossip Girl...

Off the Rack: The T.J.Maxx Clutch You Guys Went Ga-Ga For on Instagram and More

Sparkle is my favorite color clutch by Deux Lux

Usually when I'm shopping at new stores in different towns or cities, I find myself thinking "wow, this store is so much better than mine!" But this was not the case Sunday night when I checked out the T.J.Maxx in a northwest part of the state where we were spending the holidays: This store was barren. Of course, to be fair, this sad state of affairs was probably due to the fact that it was right after Christmas. I was hoping to find some goodies on clearance but there was nothing. Nada. I did, however, spot two large envelope clutches by Deux Lux with the phrase "Sparkle is my favorite color" for just $19.99 each. You guys LOVED it as evidenced by this Instagram post (407 likes and counting!) And because I never give up the hunt, I was able to spot a few more worthwhile fashions, from cozy sweaters to sparkly baubles. Most items were under $20, nothing over $50 (and that was for a Kate Spade Saturday laptop bag).
