Off the Rack: End of August Highlights at Target

Cute stuff at Target for fall

Happy Labor Day! Before we dive into September, I wanted to share some photos of cute stuff I snapped at Target last week, including new fall boots and some pretty new sparkly jewelry finds. For boots, we're seeing ankle boots make a return - from a classic Chelsea boot style to multi-buckle and cut-out styles like the Dawn and Hartley. In the handbag department, I spotted some stylish backpacks for grown-ups (big trend for fall) and Merona satchels that look reminiscent of Mulberry's classic styles. For jewelry, I saw statement necklaces that had a J.Crew vibe but cost considerably less. Shoes, bags and baubles - three easy, inexpensive ways to update your look for fall!

Altuzarra for Target Ad Campaign

Altuzarra for Target ad campaign

While flipping through the 856 page September issue of Vogue today, I came across the Joseph Altuzarra for Target ad campaign starring Eva Herzigova and photographed by Peter Lindbergh. What struck me most was the length (10 pages) and the high-end feel. If it wasn't for the red bullseye, you'd never guess this was an advertorial for a fast fashion collab. Granted, Altuzarra for Target will also be sold online at NET-A-PORTER.COM, so there's that. Check out the look book if you haven't already and get your shopping lists ready for the September 14th launch date.

LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's Fall 2014 Lookbook

LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's Fall 2014 Look Book

If you want a gradual transition to fall, look no further than Lauren Conrad's fall 2014 lookbook showcasing her latest designs for Kohl's. Inspired by her home state of California, the fall collection entitled "Nouveau Romance" mixes feminine pieces with a modern edge that can be worn just about any season. Highlights include a faux leather skater skirt in black or merlot ($35, down from $50), nude strappy "Alina" heels ($60), pleated chiffon midi skirt ($54) and double buckle "Cedar" ankle boots ($80). Once again, I think Lauren has spotted the top trends girls want to wear, from crop tops to the soft pastel color palette, and made it fresh and affordable at Kohl's. Everything here will be available August-September at Kohl's stores and KOHLS.COM. See any pieces you'll be stalking this fall?

The Look for Less: J.Crew Camo Shirt and Cargo Jacket

J.Crew look-a-likes at Old Navy

Part of my Sunday routine includes strolling around downtown to check out the cute boutiques and my local J.Crew (I live in a college town). So while it's not budget-friendly, I love checking out the trends and scouring the sales racks (which are surprisingly good, possibly because it's a college town!) This past Sunday I spotted a camo shirt and cargo jacket and was instantly reminded of a camo shirt and cargo jacket I saw just a week ago at Old Navy...
