Off the Rack: August Highlights at ZARA

August is an exciting time in fashion as summer's bright hues haven't yet left the shelves, while tempting pre-fall offerings begin to make their appearance. This was the case at Zara's Fifth Avenue store in New York City, which I popped into this past week in order to bring you guys a glimpse of what's hot right now. I noticed a ton of python prints on everything from a blazer to shoes (take your pick of platform pumps, ankle boots or knee-high boots - amazing!).

There was also a healthy amount of leopard print, stripes, cobalt blues, emerald greens, mustard yellows and fuchsia interspersed amidst the neutrals like white, camel and black. I noticed mannequins were styled to mix luxe and casual pieces, like a denim jacket over a sequin dress or a striped tee with a ladylike tweed blazer. It would be impossible to pick a favorite piece, let's jut say I wish Zara was my closet. More pics after the jump, what's grabbing your attention?

P.S. Don't live near a Zara? Don't worry! The fast-fashion chain is launching online shopping September 7.

Ask BB: Wedge Boots As Seen in Target Vintage Varsity Commercial

When I watch the commercial for Target's Vintage Varsity, they zoom in at the end on a pair of wedge lace up booties (screenshot above). I have looked online for weeks now and don't see that shoe. Can you get information on this shoe for me?

According to a tweet from @TargetStyle, the boot in question will be available at Target stores in October.

Don't want to wait? My girl Cheapalicious found a similar pair of boots (if not the exact pair) at Urbanog.com. It's the Bamboo "Tida" lace up wedge boot and it's just $27.80 in your choice of taupe, brown or black. Click the image below to shop it.

Sneak Peek at the Missoni For Target Look Book

Twenty images from the Missoni for Target lookbook have been leaked via a Tumblr blog called All the Way Up Here. Its author, a "real doll" named Marina, says the photos were given to her from Margherita Missoni herself. My understanding is that Marina has been hired by the Missonis and Target to model the cheap-chic collection, which as you know features everything from women's, men's and children's apparel and accessories to home decor, luggage and a bike. If you haven't already, mark your calendars for the September 13th launch and start saving up, these pieces will be priced from $7.99 to $199.99. Thanks again to reader Phaedra for the tip.

The Look for Less: KORS Michael Kors 'Channing' Boot

These lace-up leather wedge boots by KORS Michael Kors are $350. Quite possibly the perfect shoe for fall.

KORS at ShopStyle

I'm hoping to find more similar styles as the fall season unfolds, but here's a great looking boot that will give you the look for less. They're by Deena & Ozzy and cost just $69, available in brown or black.

Urban Outfitters at ShopStyle

Would you wear either of these this fall? I can picture them with skinny jeans and chunky sweaters or tights and skirt. Love.

Review: Softsoap Body Butter Strawberry Smoother Body Smoothing Wash

Once again, I've enlisted the help of my sister Chantal to review a Softsoap body wash that sounds good enough to eat. See what she had to say below! —BB

by Chantal Baros
Softsoap was kind enough to recently send me a bottle of their Body Butter Strawberry Smoother body wash ($5 at drugstores). I love body washes that moisturize as they cleanse (if I can skip another step in the morning while getting ready, sign me up!) And I love exfoliating body washes (which are particularly important if you use sunless tanners, as I and my translucent skin frequently do). Put the two together and I’m in love! Well, in love with the idea, but is this product Prince Charming and did it deliver or did it leave me dry, flaky and feeling like I kissed a frog?
