Urban Decay Perversion mascara is for lack of better word, AWESOME. It’s what you might call a bit of a creamy mascara, which is good thing, that has a special brush that glides through each individual lash so that you get no clumps and no little flakes…you know, the thing that people usually hate about mascara. As a bonus, it’s also formulated with a complex that stimulates lash growth (yay!).

The only downside?

It’s $22 which, sure, isn’t a crazy amount of money for mascara, but I recently tried a good alternative with some similar results. The L’OREAL PARIS Voluminous Miss Manga mascara also has an awesome brush, called a 360 flexor, that builds bold volume with high intensity. The design of the brush also allows 15 times more lash volume and that wide-eyed doe look that most women really love.

Beauty Splurge vs. Steal of the Week: Blurring Cream

Splurge vs. Steal: Blurring Creams

BB creams, CC creams and now blurring creams? Yes! And let me tell you why…they’re awesome. So what exactly IS a blurring cream? Similar to a BB cream, it will give you a little coverage but what I love about the Peter Thomas Roth version, in particular, is that it actually has diamond dust and peptides to help “blur” out any imperfections and blemishes. It’s like Photoshopping your face in real life…but yeah, it’s $48.

Beauty Splurge vs. Steal of the Week: Sonya Dakar Retinu

Sonya Dakar Retinu versus Neutrogena

We all know how completely VITAL it is to use anti-aging products as we get older but, truth be told, they can be pretty expensive sometimes. I’m a fan of all things Sonya Dakar (she is AMAZING and so are her products) and lately I’ve been using her retinol serum, Sonya Dakar Retinu since it does pretty much everything I can ask of a skincare product - it smoothes, it targets fine lines and wrinkles and, best of all, it’s gentle…but it does cost $125. While I totally think it’s worth the fancy price tag, a great budget alternative comes from one of my drugstore favorites – Neutrogena! The Rapid Wrinkle Repair Serum does pretty much the same stuff and it actually also has a special complex, Accelerated Retinol SA, which combines retinol with some good-for-your-skin ingredients to really give it the old one-two punch.

First off, I want to start by saying that I loooove Clinique. Seriously, it’s one of my favorite brands and when I tried their Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator I was instantly in love, and so was my dry, sensitive skin. If you’ve never tried it, it’s a rich cream-gel that actually has clinical proof to dramatically improve and strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier after just three days of use. Now that’s pretty amazing, as anyone with dry and/or sensitive skin can attest to. The downside? It’s not cheap.

With fall being pretty much here, there are only so many ways you can hold on to summer and, guys, I’m all about the smell of coconuts 24/7. I recently tried mark Crushing On Coconut Hand Cream at a friend’s house and couldn’t stop smelling my own hands. It’s true, I was that weird woman on the couch with her hands in front of her nose for an hour…but I don’t care. This hand cream is only $6 and it’s extra rich, which I love. Get it now so you can hold on to summer, too. #EndlessSummer
