Acrylic (aka Lucite) is clearly one of the chicest décor accents for the home, but the hefty price tag that comes with it is not so fabulous on the pocket book. If you’re like me, you’ve looked at pin after pin of Lucite decorated abodes, but your dreams of bringing it home come to a screeching halt after seeing the price tag. Fortunately, there are acrylic décor items that are fabulous without costing a fortune.

I popped into Walmart over the holiday weekend for some random necessities and noticed they've got a few really cute decorative pillows, including some off-white flokati style pillows for $15.97 each, chic chevron for $9.97, faux cowhide for $13.97 and gold fretwork (Moroccan trellis) for $9.97. Honestly, you could toss any of these pillows onto a chair or sofa in a stylishly decorated home and you'd never guess they came from Walmart. I was in a hurry on this trip so I didn't buy any but I'm planning on going back for a couple, the tough part will be deciding which ones to get. With a baby and a big dog, I can't risk spending more than $20 (at most!) for a pillow, so these will be perfect for my home.

Mint and pink with a hint of yellow. The subtlety of this room is perked up by the sweet blend of pastels and the rich fabric of the chairs, silky lined drapes, and opulent mirror. This combination is a refreshing take on creating a luxurious corner in a room or even using it as an inspiration to create a larger living space at home. Symmetry of a space or room is very important especially when you are working with a few statement pieces. This space would definitely not work with just one pink chair or a larger mirror. The chairs and credenza are bold yet dainty and the mint backdrop maintains this balance. The soft color palette and symmetry make this space for perfect for me - it’s comfortable luxury for an entryway of a home or as a sitting area of a master bedroom.
