Beauty Splurge vs. Steal of the Week: Clinique Moisture Surge

Clinique Moisture Surge dupe

In this weekly column, I’m bringing you my favorite budget-friendly beauty products that are available online and in-store. Also make sure to check out my blog, HonestlyJamie.com for even more beauty product reviews, tricks and tips.

First off, I want to start by saying that I loooove Clinique. Seriously, it’s one of my favorite brands and when I tried their Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator I was instantly in love, and so was my dry, sensitive skin. If you’ve never tried it, it’s a rich cream-gel that actually has clinical proof to dramatically improve and strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier after just three days of use. Now that’s pretty amazing, as anyone with dry and/or sensitive skin can attest to. The downside? It’s not cheap.
While I think Clinique is always worth the spend, if you ARE on a budget, I also really love a similar version from Garnier! The Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream is oil-free and lightweight but still locks in moisture in a cool and refreshing way. It’s also a gel-cream which is great, again, for anyone with dry/sensitive skin because it really helps calm and soothe.

What do you guys think? Will you try a gel-cream moisturizer?

As a person with dry sensitive skin, I will definitely try this!

I never really put together that the Garnier would be similar to that Clinique product, so thank you! I got a sample of the Clinique in a bonus once, and I loved it, but I couldn't quite pull the trigger. I'll definitely try the Garnier!

Thanks for the post! I've been hesitant on buying the full size Clinique Moisture Surge after I discovered it was $52 for the largest size. I've run out the bonus size and I will definitely try the Garnier in place of it!

NO!!!! I don't agree....I have used both and they are not the same. Yes they are both pink gel mousturizers but they are not the same. Clinique for me would soak into my skin unlike the Garnier. And after using Garnier my face looks really oily.
