Sophia’s Picks: Summer Beauty Essentials

Team Budget Babe's Sophia shares her summer beauty essentials.
If you're like me, the summer heat makes your hair frizzy and your face oily; two things that are a girl's worst nightmare. Even though I love competing with friends to see who can get the tannest during the summer, I prefer the winter months because that's when my hair and complexion looks its best. I always carry a few products in my tote so that throughout my day I can freshen up without spending hours in front of the mirror. Here are five products that save my life during the summer and that are currently in my tote bag. Number three is my favorite...what’s yours?

Sophia’s Picks: Summer Beauty Essentials

1. Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets $4.74
I use this product year round, but I use it the most in the summer. I like to spend time outside but where I'm from, the humidity is a killer. I also am a girl who sweats like a boy. These oil absorbing sheets are great to use periodically throughout the day to clear up any excess oil or sweat. The best thing about these little sheets is that they won’t take off your makeup! I keep a pack of these in my bathroom, my car, and my purse so that I am always covered as I run around during my day-to-day life.

2. Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Anti-Frizz Serum $4.79
This is one of the best products I own. I found out about it from my hairdresser who was trying to get me to buy a pricy salon product that was similar but then she whispered to me that Garnier Fructis had a better product and was significantly cheaper. I have recommended this product to many friends and they all love it too! My natural hair is poofy, rough, and frizzy no matter what weather condition I’m in, so the summer humidity makes it a lot worse. However, I’ve been using this frizz crème for years and it helps settle my crazy hair. Not to mention it smells amazing…it's like hair perfume!

3. Urban Decay Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion $12
Have you ever heard or been the girl to say, “Oh my God, my makeup is literally melting off my face!” Well I most certainly have but this product will prevent you from ever saying those words again. All you do is apply the potion on your eyelids and then apply your favorite eyeshadow. You will be able to go about your day without worrying about smudging, smearing, or the worst of them all; melting. The travel size is only $12 and is the perfect amount to get you through about 2-3 months of everyday eyeshadow wearing. If you don’t wear all that much eyeshadow, then it should last about 3-4 months.

4. Completely Bare Bikini Bump Blaster Pads $9.99
It's summer time, which means it’s waxing/shaving season. The worst part about that are ingrown hairs. Those little guys can totally ruin your day at the pool or the beach. I use these bikini bump blaster pads after showering on areas that are prone to ingrown hairs. The pads themselves are extremely gentle which is awesome because I have really sensitive skin. I use the pads on my legs, too, to prevent shaving burns. I cannot stress how awesome these pads are. They will save you the pain and misery of any and all hair removal rashes.

5. Maybelline Baby Lip Crystal Lip Balm $2.98
Like I said before, I am a girl who sweats like a boy, which means I get dehydrated a lot, which means my lips are constantly chapped. I love wearing fun lipstick but sometimes that doesn’t really give me enough hydration. I’m obsessed with Baby Lips Lip Balm because it gives me color options like a lipstick with the moisture of a lip balm. Plus it has SPF 20 to keep my lips extra kissable. MUAH!
