Real Leather Jackets Under $250

Never before has a single article of outerwear garnered so much attention as the leather jacket for Fall 2009. I can't back that up with any hard data, but it certainly seems that way. Earlier in the season, I outlined some of the best places to shop for leather jackets on a budget.

Now the fashionable folks at Stylehive.com have taken it to another level with a round-up of some of the most stylish leather jackets under $250. And if that still seems to high, consider that all these jackets are sold at stores with frequent sales and the occasional online coupon. Plus, a real leather jacket is one of those things you can wear forever.

Are you wearing a leather jacket this season? Did you go faux or real?

Right now, my Levi's Faux leather jacket will do! It's surprisingly warm :-)
But a real leather jacket is on my Christmas list.

I have two leather jackets. Both I purchased prior to the recent current leather 'craze'. One I was lucky enough to score off a clearance rack for around $80. The other (my fav) I bought at a Wilson's Leather outlet store (Chicago Premium Outlets). I've had it for years and love it. So YES I will be wearing them and they are definitely worth the investment.

I have several both real and faux and I’m hopelessly devoted to each and every one. I've been embracing my inner punk persona for 20 years and my wardrobe is never without some form of updated hard edged look – that’s put together in a feminine way. Love the contrast!

I've been craving a real leather jacket for ages, and though I have a couple of fab suede ones the leather versions were always too expensive. Until I went to the thrift store this morning and found a gorgeous Gap black leather jacket that's styled just like a jean jacket ... for $18!!

You can often find rad 1970s and 80s leather jackets at thrift stores for cheap. They're really worth checking out.

How cool can someone be wearing dead cow skin? Faux is the only way to go.

Hmm that comment didn't really make sense.. anyhoo I've got faux since I'm too cheap to spend money on something I wasn't sure I could pull off. Everyone thinks it's real though!

Another Macy's plug incoming! We currently have leather jackets in a few simple styles by Avanti that are going for 199.99 in store and even cheaper online! http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=395540&PseudoCat=se-xx-xx-xx.esn_results like this one. I believe certain coupons will work on top of this as well.
