New Sample Sale Site: RedTagCrazy.com

There's a new online sample sale site that's like the Woot.com of fashion: RedTagCrazy.com. Each sale features just one item at a time from one hot designer for a limited period of time. This could get really addictive, really fast! The current sale features DVB by Victoria Beckham Signature Bootcut Jeans in Black regularly $225, now just $44.76. I'm liking the savings, so let's give them some time to bring us better designers, shall we?

Marshalls Shoe Megashop: What Say You?

A couple months ago, Marshalls began opening these separate shoe boutiques within their stores, affectionately called the Marshalls Shoe Megashops. I've made a few quick trips to the one near my house, and I must say, they have definitely stepped up their game. Yesterday, I spent a good hour just trying on fabulous heels and admiring how long and lean my legs look in 5-inch heels, haha. Too bad I can barely walk in them.

Anyways, they had a great selection of party-worthy pumps by Jessica Simpson, Guess by Marciano, BCBGirls, Tahari, Nine West, Delman, Steve Madden, NYLA, and many more. The aisles were fairly clean and wide, there were plenty of mirrors, well-stocked boxes of nylon footies and places to sit. On this particular trip, I wasn't looking for anything in particular so I left the store empty handed, but I'll definitely be back again soon.

It's a bit premature to definitively vote or "yea" or "nay" on this latest venture from Marshalls, but I'd love to get your feedback. Have you been to a Shoe Megashop near you? Did you find any great deals?

Jonathan Saunders for Target on Clearance

It's not too late to get something from the Jonathan Saunders for Target collection on clearance! I picked up this red dress for just $9.98, marked down from $39.99. Paired with a striped turtleneck ($8.50 at Forever 21), this fun little frock will be perfect for casual Christmas festivities with the fam. I fear that I may look like one of Santa's elves but I just can't resist those Target clearance racks. Check your local store or Target.com for more styles.

Inflated Prices at Urban

OK, so I know I'm a weirdo for posting this but check it out: A couple weeks ago, I purchased a bottle of L.A. Girl Flare Bright Delights Nail Laquer in Blazin' from Urban Outfitters (really crappy quality, I might add, but it had a retro charm that kept me using it.) Flash forward to yesterday, when I'm shopping at Forever 21 and spot the exact same nail polish--but what's this? The price is drastically lower! At Urban, I paid $5 for my bottle of L.A. Flare. At Forever 21, the more maligned fast-fashion retailer, I paid just $2.80 (see pics).

If my college thesis adviser were to see this post, he'd probably pass out, because this fact is trivial at best. But I think I might be on to something bigger here, I'm just not sure what it is. What makes Urban mark up the same exact product so much more than Forever 21? Why do they think they can get away with it? Apparently, it's all marketing. And if they can do it with nail polish, you better believe they're doing this with other products too.

Full Look: Thakoon for Target

Images of the Thakoon for Target collection, which launches December 28 in stores and online, are now available for your viewing pleasure. Is it amazing? No, but I do love the printed cardigans and full skirts, so let's hope the fabric passes muster in person. The bikinis are kind of a waste of time for me. Personally I would have preferred to have seen breezy printed scarves or beach towels or totes—just something I could get more use out of as I will not be "resorting" when this collection hits. And once again, I want the shoes! Sadly, the shoes that Target uses for these press photos never seem to materialize in stores. Remember those ankle boots in the Jonathan Saunders for Target campaign? Where were they when we needed them?

From the Target pressroom: "Ranging in price from $16.99 - $44.99, the line includes a variety of seasonal staples including flutter sleeve tees, ruffled tanks and belted shirtdresses. Stand-out pieces include a floral print canvas coat, a shibori print ¾-sleeve dress, floral print shorts and a striped pleated dress, with prints that give a nod to Panichgul's Eastern heritage."
