Reader Request: Matt Bernson Barracuda Sandal for Less

Matt Bernson at ShopStyle

Today's "look for less" was requested by a reader who says she loves these Matt Bernson Barracuda sandals, but isn't loving the price—they're $175 at Piperlime.com. Celebs like Sarah Jessica Parker, Miley Cyrus and Leighton Meester are all fans of Matt Bernson, too, a brand that distinguishes itself by blending luxurious details with comfortable styling. Each pair is hand cut leather and "soulfully made in Brazil," says their website (find out more about Matt Bernson shoes at mattbernson.com), which explains the higher prices.

For those on a budget, here are some alternatives that won't break the bank. (Click any image for details.)

Hot Topic: What's In Your Purse?

It's always fun and enlightening to take a look inside someone's purse. The contents can reveal quite a bit about a person's life! So for today's hot topic, I'm inviting you to spill the beans on what you're carrying in your handbag. Feel free to share what kind of bag it is, too!

I'll go first (gulp!):

Ok, now what's in yours?

Ask BB: How to Wear a Floral Headband

I love the flowery headpieces that are currently just about everywhere in stores. I purchased a few and now have no idea what to wear with them. What are the best types of pieces of clothing to wear when donning one of these types of bold hair accessories? —A

Floral headbands are among some of the most popular hair accessories out there, and you can pick up affordable versions everywhere from Forever 21 to Etsy.com. I think the sky's the limit as far as how you choose to wear one, but here are some visuals I put together to help you incorporate these fun, feminine pieces into your wardrobe:

Four Gingham Dresses: Would You Wear One?

If you loved Michael Kors' take on polka-dots for spring 2009, chances are you'll fall head over heels for his take on gingham, too. He used this classic check print on belted dresses with full skirts that were both playful and chic, which inspired me to seek out some affordable gingham frocks for myself. I honestly love all four choices (#3 has an amazing deep v-back detail, and #4 reminds me of L.A.M.B.), but #2 has my heart aflutter (which is not surprising, seeing as how it's from the new Isaac Mizrahi for Liz Claiborne collection). Which of these four frocks would make your checklist?

[2] Gingham Belted Taffeta Dress, LizClaiborne.com, $189
[3] Plastic Island "Luncheon" Gingham Dress, Dillard's, $169.
[4] Split Neck-Side Tab Dress (also available in blue/white), Wet Seal, $24.50

Four Cage Heels: Would You Wear One?

From the runways of Paris to the pages of Vogue, cage heels are said to be the must-have shoe for spring. You may recognize #1 as the Yves Saint Laurent original, a stunning piece of wearable modern art that features latticework grids of leather with metal-mesh heels. Designer-inspired looks are cropping up everywhere, but the only pair I might conceivably wear is #4 by Jeffrey Cambell, which looks pretty comfy with that chunky heel. How about you, is there a pair of cage heels with your name on it?
