Off the Rack: Urban Outfitters Lightens Up for April

This weekend I stopped by Urban Outfitters and was pleasantly surprised by all the upbeat offerings for spring, from flirty skirts and feminine tops to the amazing selection of retro accessories, like structured bags, cool hats and fun shades.

Look to the mannequins for styling ideas: Plaid shirts and denim shorts, printed dresses topped with jackets, slouchy sweaters with curve-hugging minis. If you're looking for a go-to spring outfit, you might just find it at Urban.

Also, don't miss the sale racks - I saw a coral blouse for $19.99, and their Mulberry "Alexa" bag knockoffs were marked down to $39.99 in three colors. For the home, I loved a lot of the inexpensive options for showcasing your jewelry, like a coral branch jewelry stand or triple-tier ring tray (photos after the jump).

Adventures in Online Shopping: Last Call by Neiman Marcus

Recently the folks at Last Call by Neiman Marcus sent me a $75 giftcard to go wild on their website. At first I didn't think I'd be able to find anything I could afford with said meager amount, but I was pleasantly surprised by the wide selection of mid-priced brands and, yes, deals! As in, incredible bargains! An Alice + Olivia dress for $173, down from $495. J Brand denim shorts for $56, down from $160.

10 Bright Spring Bags That Won't Break the Bank

One of the best ways to update your spring wardrobe and give your whole look an instant makeover is with a brightly colored handbag, a trend that shined on the spring 2011 runways at Marc by Marc Jacobs, Z Spoke by Zac Posen and Paul & Joe (shown above from left). Clean lines and structured shapes make these bright bags surprisingly versatile and give them staying power for seasons to come.

Here are 10 of my favorite rainbow-hued handbags under $300 to inspire you.
