Derek Lam for Kohl's: The Complete Lookbook (Continued)

Derek Lam for DesigNation exclusively at Kohl's Lookbook

Here's the second installment of the Derek Lam for DesigNation exclusively at Kohl's collection lookbook, launching in April at Kohl's stores and online at kohls.com. The lookbook is divided into two parts: The first part is styled with a younger, cooler slant (in my opinion), while this second half showcases the extensive collection in a more mature manner - I see these pieces as being more office-appropriate and aimed at a slightly older audience. Featuring dresses and separates in a palette of mostly cobalt blue, black, and white, this affordable line seems made for easy mixing and matching.

Some items are downright pedestrian, to borrow a word from Project Runway judge Zac Posen, like the pleated black pants or the silver button down shirt and black pencil skirt look. Very confusing. Other items are totally cute and sexy, like the colorblock dresses, and still others show Lam's unique design vision, such as the boxy chambray jacket and skirt set. Sizing ranges from xs-xl or 2-16, and the most expensive piece is an $88 maxi dress. Most pieces are much less. Unfortunately the shoes are not part of this collection.

Which pieces can you see yourself wearing?

Derek Lam for Kohl's: See the Complete Lookbook with Prices Here

The complete Derek Lam for Kohl's lookbook is here, and it is so good! Can you believe this is Kohl's?! Coming April 5th, we'll have our choice of apparel and swimwear from the acclaimed designer priced at just $36 to $88. Lam's inspiration for these spring must-haves was the city of Rio de Janeiro, and you can see it plays out in the prints, styles and details. My favorite two pieces are the striped dresses (see below) but there's so much good stuff going on here. It's modern and cool but has a certain warmth to it, and all the pieces seem very wearable. I've gotten to preview a few pieces in person (here) and think the quality is good and reflects the pricepoints. I don't plan on paying full price either. The debut DesigNation designer's collection, Narciso Rodriguez, made it to the clearance racks at the two Kohl's stores near me so I'm not worried.

Joe Fresh for JCP Spring 2013 Lookbook

Back in July we learned Joe Fresh was coming to JCPenney, and now we've got a preview with the spring 2013 lookbook! Joe Fresh is a Canadian fashion brand that I fell in love with a couple years ago during a trip to our fair neighbor to the north, so I was super psyched about their partnership with JCP. While this lookbook isn't particularly inspiring (what's up with the clunky sandals?), I can't wait to see what lands in stores. From the lookbook, we can expect colored denim, breezy dresses with a global flair, and everyday basics like button-downs and cardigans in bright spring colors. I could see fashion bloggers rocking the green floral trench ($49, available April) above, or the floral top ($19, avail. April) and crochet skirt ($49, avail. April). Look for Joe Fresh at jcp.com and JCP stores March 15, 2013.

Target Spring 2013 Lookbook

Here's the Target Spring 2013 lookbook for women, featuring classic silhouettes updated with bright prints, pops of color and subtle details. In seasons past, Target released separate lookbooks for in-house brands like Merona, Mossimo and Xhilaration but this time around they've mixed and matched pieces, as shoppers might in real life, and the result is outstanding. I see lots of looks I want to copy head to toe, like the polka-dot skirt & pink bag ensemble, or the ripped jeans, tee and striped jacket pairing, or even the floral print top and bottom with yellow blazer. So much to look forward to this spring!

Items shown will be coming out now through April (let me know if you have questions about specific items) at Target stores and online at Target.com. What can you see yourself wearing?

Cosabella Amore for JCP

Beloved Italian lingerie brand Cosabella has created Cosabella Amore, a new lower-priced offshoot for JCPenney. You're probably familiar with Cosabella's supersoft, seamless lace underthings sold at luxe stores like Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom. But whereas a Cosabella thong costs $20 at one of these fine retailers, a nearly identical thong by Cosabella Amore costs half the price. Ladies, if you can get to a JCP before Valentine's Day, you'll definitely want to check this line out. According to alert BB reader @booshabear, the quality and fit of Cosabella Amore is comparable to the original line. "Omg, gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!" she tweeted. "My Cosabella habit is back in a big time way! Quality exceeds what I thought it would b!" Admittedly, you can often find "real" Cosabella at a discount on sites like Rue La La and Gilt, but with Cosabella Amore for JCP you won't have to wait for a sale.
