Off the Rack: February Shoe Offerings at Target

I finally got around to checking out the latest spring shoe offerings at my local Target store, which is currently undergoing renovations as they improve the store and expand the grocery section, so it was kind of topsy-turvy and many of the shelves were bare. Anyways, I saw a couple of the new Dolce Vita for Target Spring 2011 offerings, as well as the Mossimo 'Pilar' wedge (which looks identical to Dolce Vita's 'Pela' wedge. Why they didn't just include it in the Dolce Vita for Target collection is beyond me.) I didn't get anything on this trip but I need the Pilar wedge and hope they don't sell out. I wasn't feeling any of the flat sandals so I didn't photograph them. If you've bought any shoes recently at Target and love your purchase, let me know in the comments! I need help narrowing down my choices.

Bought the Mossimo nude Pilar wedges, the DV rope wedges in nude & tawny brown Cynthia Vincent knock offs by Exhilaration wedges (not pictured above) - all are amazing and super comfortable!

Oh my gosh how did you grab those nude rope wedges? I've been looking for them everywhere and now they're out of stock. Do you wear them often?...

I love the gold wedges you have photographed above. I tried them on and they are really comfortable. I considered getting them for a cruise I plan on taking at the end of the summer. I actually did buy the quilted black flats and the khaki tweed flats with the brown faux leather toe part. Both are really comfortable. I wear the black ones everyday now.

I bought the Nude DV for Target Rope Wedges online because my local Target was sold out. They arrived today and I have to say...I'm not at all impressed. I have very thin ankles and these shoes gap terribly at the ankle. What's more, I think my pair have defective zippers because I could only zip them partway down. Also, the material for the upper is really stiff, scratchy and cheap feeling. I'll be returning these posthaste. I wound up buying the DV by Dolce Vita Pali wedges from shoes.com for $52.13 more than what I paid for the Target version. In this case, the splurge is worth it.

Too bad I also ordered the brown DV for Target Rope Wedges also. I'll probably return those too :-(

I bought the black cork wedges and LOOOOVE them! I have wide feet and they fit perfectly! The reviews online say that if your feet are not wide or you're in between sizes, to size down. I agree! The regular 10's fit perfectly even though I'm usually a 10W! :-D

I'm planning on going back for the gold or brown pair. haven't decided yet! :-D

I bought the brown Mossimo Pilar wedges, and am obsessed with them. Of course, it's still far too cold in my part of the country to wear them right now, but I can't wait to break them out! I also tried on a couple of pairs from the new DV collection, but none of them suited my fancy. I may have to go back to take a second look soon.

LOVE the rope wedges, such a great find. Spotted these recently and was wondering why Target hasn't promo'ed this at all, so I too have a post about the DV for Target in my blog post queaue (sp?! hehe). Hoping they're as comfy as everyone says... dying to get my feed on them!

So funny you posted this today, I tried on a bunch of these shoes just a few hours ago! Tried on both the DV rope wedge and the Pilar -- of the two I preferred the Pilar but the zipper in the back of the ankle was irritating. I also tried on the beige clogs -- I went up a half-size and they were super comfortable, but despite the price, I was turned off by the faux wood base platform (it was plastic molded to look like wood grain). I walked out empty-handed but might pick up the Pilar on clearance!

I bought the nude pumps and I love them! Long legs, here I come!

I got the black cork wedges and love em! I wore them for 7 hours on my feet the other night and my only complaint is that the zipper in the back rubs a bit on the back of my heel. Other than that, they're great! Nothing a bandaid can't fix.

I bought a pair online that are the same style as those nude pumps (Pearce) but in the dove gray. They practically started falling apart after only one wear. The heel got a huge chunk taken out of it, the very bottom heel piece was half falling off, the seam going up the inside of the foot was just glued on and started to pull back, and the "patent" was rubbing off the back of the heels where the seam is. Needless to say, I returned them. Shame because they were beautiful shoes...

Ah, I see two pairs that I want to go check out!

as an update to my response in your previous Pilar thread, I've worn them several times now and can confirm they are comfortable and look fantastic. Even if it's still winter I wear them over my tights anyway - that's how much I love them!

I bought the sandals that are the 4th style from the bottom. I really like them. I got them when they were $17, but yesterday I saw them at Target (also in the dark brown) on clearance for $9. You might want to check your Target if you like these shoes!
