Ask BB: What to Wear to a College Interview

Here's a question posted by cydneycy in the forums: "In two weeks I've got to go to the college I'm planning on going to to interview for scholarships. It's going to be an event with a lot of other prospective students and I really want to leave a good, lasting impression. HELP!"

The outfit you put together should look professional while still showcasing your personality. You'll make it memorable by wearing a confident smile, making eye contact, and delivering smart answers (naturally!).

I think a classic sheath dress ($128) is a great wardrobe staple that's flattering on many body types. It should be fitted but not tight. Next, add a velvet blazer ($100) to cover those shoulders and add some color and texture. Carry your essentials in a forest green lattice embellished bag ($46) that's fashionable yet understated.

Finish the look with a braided chain bracelet ($6.50), black opaque tights ($15) and black ankle boots ($62) - a little bit of heel will give you a boost, physically and mentally. The right clothes will make you feel more comfortable and the less you're worrying about how you look, the more you can focus on nailing that scholarship. Good luck!

Frye Spring 2011 Preview

On Tuesday October 19 I attended the Frye Spring 2011 collection preview in their Manhattan showroom. Staying true to their classic, rugged signature styles, Frye presented a solid collection of covetable leather shoes and handbags with a few new twists and styles thrown into the mix to keep things fresh. There were flats and hobos with a new metallic color treatment; some dry-washed boots that had that perfectly worn-in look; stud detailing (still subdued but about as glam as Frye is ever going to get) and the introduction of chukka boots in pastel hues, plus reimagined over-the-knee boots, huarache sandals, boat shoes and platform sandals. The cork wedge sandals were incredibly light and would look lovely with floaty dresses and denim shorts alike.

Earlier we reported Gossip Girl stylist Eric Daman was teaming up with Charlotte Russe for a special collection of $50 and under party dresses, now we have a sneak peek at the lookbook. According to @CharlotteRusse on Twitter, the collection will be available online starting tomorrow October 21st, so look for it then! I love the one with the structured shoulders and the one with the lace sleeves, just wondering how short they are in person. Tough to tell on those leggy models! K-DASH by Kardashian for QVC

E! Entertainment's leading ladies of reality television, the Kardashians, have parlayed their reality stardom into dozens of lucrative product deals and brand endorsements, from weightloss supplements and lipgloss to a fashion collab with Bebe. Most recently, the sisters created a fashion line for QVC called K-DASH, which made its debut during the second annual Fashion's Night Out in September.

Now, the girls are scheduled to return for the one-hour premiere of K-DASH by Kardashian on October 22 at 8 PM (ET). Per the press release, "K-DASH reflects a variety of looks, ranging from glam and edgy to feminine and flirty. Staying true to their mission of making fashion accessible to every woman, the Kardashians offer styles that are made to flatter all figures."

Items you can shop right now at QVC.com include a Printed Tunic with Detachable Belt ($59.50), Double Strap Pebble Leather Handbag (sale $209.94) and Riding Pants with Faux Leather Detail ($59.75). It's not exactly my style but the sale prices seem reasonable if you're looking for something like a black blazer or cocktail dress.
