Beauty Splurge vs. Steal of the Week: Estee Lauder BB Cream

Estee Lauder BB Cream dupe

In this weekly column, I’m bringing you my favorite budget-friendly beauty products (and their high-end equivalents!) that are available online and in-store. This week, we’re chatting BB Creams (!). Also make sure to check out my blog, HonestlyJamie.com, for even more beauty product reviews and tips.

BB creams have been around for a few years now, but with so many options (both high-end and low-end) it’s hard to decipher what’s actually worth it! My two favorites?

Estee Lauder Daywear BB Cream SPF 35 is an AMAZING high-end option. It’s proven to fight free radical damage that leads to wrinkles, fine lines, etc. AND it illuminates the skin for fresh face. The one downside: it only comes in two shades but the brand claims that they suit a variety of different skin tones.

Beauty Splurge vs. Steal of the Week: Stila Liquid Liner

Stila liquid liner splurge versus steal

In this weekly column, I’m bringing you my favorite budget-friendly beauty products (and their high-end equivalents!) that are available online and in-store. This week, we’re chatting liquid liner (!). Also make sure to check out my blog, HonestlyJamie.com for even more beauty product reviews and tips.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner is definitely a go-to liquid liner for most makeup artists, and for good reason. The waterproof liner (a must, of course) glides on easily and doesn’t smudge or run. What I love most about this liquid eyeliner is the thin marker-like tip that makes it pretty much idiot-proof for shaky handed people like myself…but the way I go through this eyeliner, $20 a pop isn’t very ideal.

Beauty Splurge vs. Steal of the Week: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation

Beauty Splurge vs. Steal: Giorgio Armani Foundation

In this weekly column, I’m bringing you my favorite budget-friendly beauty products (and their high-end equivalents!) that are available online and in-store. This week, we’re chatting luxurious foundation (!). Also make sure to check out my blog, HonestlyJamie.com for even more beauty product reviews and tips.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation has pretty much dominated every foundation beauty award for the past decade, making it a staple in every makeup artist’s arsenal, as well as every makeup fanatic’s makeup bag…but, guys, it costs $62. So what makes it so fabulous? Well it’s oil-free and weightless but also magically really hydrating and makes everyone’s face look like pure silk – I’m not exaggerating – but listen, I get it…it’s a cult favorite, it’s Armani, it’s fabulous, but when I discovered a similar product, I was PRETTY excited, I can’t lie.

Beauty Splurge vs. Steal of the Week: Philosophy Hope In a Jar

Philosophy Hope In A Jar Dupe

In this weekly column, I’m bringing you my favorite splurge-worthy beauty products and their budget-friendly counterparts. This week, we’re chatting anti-aging moisturizers (!). Also make sure to check out my blog, HonestlyJamie.com for even more beauty product reviews and tips.

Philosophy Hope In a Jar is 100% a cult classic when it comes to anti-aging moisturizers, but we can all agree that $67 for a 4 oz. jar is pretttty pricey…even if it does boast its medical market origin. As much as I LOVE Hope In a Jar (and yes, it really is that amazing), once I discovered St. Ives Timeless Skin Collagen Elastin Facial Moisturizer ($5.29, 10 oz), I was instantly obsessed. Just like Hope In a Jar, the St. Ives version is super moisturizing and also promises to help with fine lines and wrinkles.

Beauty Splurge vs. Steal of the Week: YSL Touche Eclat

YSL Touche Eclat drugstore dupe

In this weekly column, I’m bringing you my favorite budget-friendly beauty products - and their high-end equivalents. This week, we’re chatting highlighter pens (!). Also make sure to check out my blog, HonestlyJamie.com for even more beauty product reviews and tips.

The first time I tried the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat, I was completely confused why I needed it…but then I did some research and became completely OBSESSED. So what the heck does it do? Essentially it’s a luminizing pen that brightens the skin by drawing in light. It helps to hide signs of being tired, making it perfect to use after a long night out or an early morning. My personal favorite use for the product is to create fuller-looking lips; you simply apply it in the hollow of the chin and around the contour of your lips and, I swear guys, my lips look instantly fuller. But $41 for a tiny pen? Ugh. Don’t get me wrong, the YSL Touche Eclat is a CLASSIC; it’s loved by every makeup artist and celebrity that you’ll ever meet…but I recently found a great dupe:
