Chic and affordable storage solutions

In this weekly decor column, I'm sharing affordable finds that only look expensive! For more inspiration visit my blog A Vintage Splendor.

A new year means a fresh new perspective about a lot of things. If you're anything like me, that means cleaning starts in full gear - I don't wait until springtime to declutter, toss and organize. The challenge of organizing is that it is a daunting task and there is always the problem of not enough storage space. The biggest issue for me is hiding heavily used items away in a closet which then becomes a problem when I try to reach for them!

Marsala: The New Neutral

Marsala Home Decor Finds on a Budget

In this weekly column, I'm sharing high-style tips and finds that are budget-friendly, too! This week, I'm sharing tips and items to bring Pantone's Color of the Year home. Find more decor ideas on my blog, A Vintage Splendor.

Marsala has elicited so much vibrant discussion for being such a muted hue as soon as it was announced as Pantone's Color of the Year. Although it's not loved by the design community as much as last year's Radiant Orchid, it is much easier to incorporate this hue at home. Marsala is a reddish-brown that will translate well to interiors and decor because it's a rich and inviting hue that commands attention. Whether you're looking to add a new neutral color or giving your space a makeover, Marsala will work well in a variety of spaces and aesthetics.

10 Gifts for the Hostess (that give back!)

Holiday Gifts that give back

In this weekly column, I'm sharing high-style tips and finds that are budget-friendly, too! This week, I've rounded up some of the best gifts with a charitable twist. Find more holiday ideas on my blog, A Vintage Splendor.

If your holiday schedule is anything like mine, then you're on the home stretch with holiday parties coming up in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully, you've bought all your gifts, wrapped them up, and are enjoying them decorating your home. Hostess gifts always seem a last ditch effort with many of us rushing to the wine shop for a bottle. I know, you can't go wrong with wine, but this year I have another game plan: gifts that give back.

Louise Roe's Canyon Hideway Dining Room for Less

Louise Roe dining room

Louise Roe is known for her personal style, but one look at her home and it's obvious her sense of style infuses all aspects of her life! Her 1962 house has neutral tones with wood and terracotta floors, plus lots of bright light via the large windows. Given its canyon location, the home has the feel of a tree house surrounded by lush trees, but it's anything but glam. The room that caught my eye is the dining room which is a sophisticated take on the 70s inspired entertainer's den.

10 under $30 Target Holiday Decor

Holiday decor finds under $30

Haven’t started decorating for the holidays yet? Don’t worry, I’m not judging. My halls are usually decked with holiday decor this time of year, but I’m way behind schedule. The downside is that I still have fall pumpkins lined up by our front door. The upside of delaying? I’ve actually had more time to scope out some festive pieces to add to my holiday collection. If you’re just getting started, like me, then hit up Target for everything. This is not a sponsored post, just trust me that they have holiday decor covered. From pillows to decorative objects to miniature Christmas trees to faux fur throws, Target is a blessing for the holiday decorator on a budget. Did I mention a majority of the decor is under $30?!

Here are my favorite picks under $30:
