TJ Maxx and Marshall's Are Launching Online Shopping

TJ Maxx and Marshall's are making plans to launch e-commerce, according to StyleBistro which cites this WWD article. This is BIG news for us budget shoppers because until now, our favorite off-price retailers haven't had a presence in the online world. We've had to rely on bloggers to show us what's new (like myself!) in the brick-and-mortar stores.

On the one hand, online shopping will be a godsend for shoppers who don't live near a TJ Maxx or Marshalls - or who claim, as many of you do, that your local store isn't all that great! On the other hand, will the deals be as good? And what about the "thrill of the hunt"? I happen to enjoy the in-store experience because I don't mind getting hands-on and doing a little digging, and I feel like I'm competing with fewer fashionistas for those rare gems (and clearance items) that pop up unexpectedly at my store.

Are you excited at the prospect of being able to shop TJ Maxx and Marshalls online?

Joe Fresh for JCP Spring 2013 Lookbook

Back in July we learned Joe Fresh was coming to JCPenney, and now we've got a preview with the spring 2013 lookbook! Joe Fresh is a Canadian fashion brand that I fell in love with a couple years ago during a trip to our fair neighbor to the north, so I was super psyched about their partnership with JCP. While this lookbook isn't particularly inspiring (what's up with the clunky sandals?), I can't wait to see what lands in stores. From the lookbook, we can expect colored denim, breezy dresses with a global flair, and everyday basics like button-downs and cardigans in bright spring colors. I could see fashion bloggers rocking the green floral trench ($49, available April) above, or the floral top ($19, avail. April) and crochet skirt ($49, avail. April). Look for Joe Fresh at jcp.com and JCP stores March 15, 2013.

Cosabella Amore for JCP

Beloved Italian lingerie brand Cosabella has created Cosabella Amore, a new lower-priced offshoot for JCPenney. You're probably familiar with Cosabella's supersoft, seamless lace underthings sold at luxe stores like Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom. But whereas a Cosabella thong costs $20 at one of these fine retailers, a nearly identical thong by Cosabella Amore costs half the price. Ladies, if you can get to a JCP before Valentine's Day, you'll definitely want to check this line out. According to alert BB reader @booshabear, the quality and fit of Cosabella Amore is comparable to the original line. "Omg, gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!" she tweeted. "My Cosabella habit is back in a big time way! Quality exceeds what I thought it would b!" Admittedly, you can often find "real" Cosabella at a discount on sites like Rue La La and Gilt, but with Cosabella Amore for JCP you won't have to wait for a sale.

Duro Olowu for JCPenney Launch Party

Last night I stopped by the Duro Olowu for JCP launch event at the Stone Rose Lounge in NYC to fête the designer and scope out some of the pieces in real life. While not everything I loved from the lookbook was on display, the pieces I did see gave me a great sense of the quality and what to expect overall. The colors are just as vibrant, fabrications look good, and the home decor items really pop. Guests received an umbrella (one of my favorite items, it's just so fun) and set of 4 notebooks on their way out. Today JCP is hosting a shopping event for press and bloggers so I'm hoping to scoop up the checked pullover and gorgeous solid blue bag (looks like Coach). Shop the collection at JCPenney stores and online at jcp.com this March 1, 2013.

Shop Prabal Gurung for Target Now, Plus See My Top Picks

The Prabal Gurung for Target collection has launched at Target stores and target.com - have you made any purchases yet? I've seen the collection twice in person (once at the press preview and more recently at the launch party), and all I can say is these pieces will go fast! The prices are right and the styles are so fresh and fun.

Here are a few pieces I'm loving after seeing them in person:

  1. Coral and teal colorblock dress ($39.99): The coral and blue on this dress are both super vivid in person, and the fabric drapes nicely. A great day to night option thanks to the cute cap sleeves.

  2. Lace Up Black Pumps ($39.99): The perfect, strappy cage heel to pair with skirts, dresses or skinny pants. Hard to pick one color!

  3. Button-down blouse in "First Date" print ($26.99): The print is SO Prabal and you want something that's recognizable when shopping these designer collabs! Layer with a white blazer and leggings or tuck into a skirt with heels.

  4. Sleeveless dress in "Meet the Parents" print ($44.99): This dress is so flattering and visually slims the waist. The print is bold and very Prabal but the black and white color palette give it versatility.

  5. Ankle Strap Wedge in Apple ($29.99): These pop color wedges are chic and modern - comfortable too! You'll get so much wear out of these during spring and summer.
