Ask BB: Wedding Guest Outfits for Nursing Moms

Nursing Dress

I've been invited to 3 weddings this summer. I'll be bringing the baby along as the events are long and I need to nurse. ... Could you help me find a nursing friendly and wallet friendly dress that could be styled for 3 weddings? —Marie

I haven't faced this challenge yet as a nursing mom, however, I'll be attending a wedding in September and need to find something nursing-friendly, too. So I turned to the members of my mommy group for advice. The response was overwhelmingly in favor of the ever-important wrap dress! Others suggested a low v-neck dress, or even a strapless style that could be pulled down. I'm thinking separates are a good idea, too, especially with matching sets being so on-trend at the moment.

My awesome mommy friends also recommended Dress Barn, Kohl's and Motherhood Maternity as affordable options for finding nursing-friendly dresses. Whatever you choose, be sure to try it on first. Just experiment in the dressing room to see what will work. Here are some options I found online:

Off the Rack: Cute Summer Shoes at Kohl's

Cute shoes at Kohl's

Last week I stopped by Kohl's to try to find a pair of blue and brown flat sandals that I'd seen on a friend of mine who happens to be French and who also happens to be impossibly chic without even trying (yes, the stereotype c'est vrai). They're by a brand called Sole (Sense)ability which is a stylish comfort brand that I'd honestly never even noticed before but seems to have some really cute options. If you do a lot of walking, you'll want to check these out. They're available HERE in 3 color combos for just $19 online (down from $50). The blue/brown combo is the most fun and expensive looking IMO (reminiscent of Campers or something).

Trend Alert: Dainty Jewelry

Dainty Jewels Round-Up

For the past year, I've loved wearing statement necklaces. However, they can be extremely pricey and get heavy, especially during the hot weather. Little "dainty" jewels are perfect for the summer months -- lightweight, classy and definitely more budget-friendly! I've rounded up a few of my favorite dainty pieces, including necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings.
