The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is On: Here's What I'll Be Looking for Today When I Shop the Sale

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks from The Budget Babe
At the time I'm writing this post, there are already 35,819 Instagram posts with the hashtag #nsale - that's right, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale kicks off today (to the general public, cardholders got early access) and the fashion blogosphere is in a frenzy to shop and capitalize on this annual event. Truth be told, I've never shopped the sale. Nordstrom came on the scene sometime when I was a teenager and when we'd take the trek up to the north shore of Chicago to the fancy mall, I always felt like an outsider and Nordstrom embodied everything I didn't have (ya know, like money). I know, I know, cue the violins, right? Poor me.

Sarah Jessica Parker is the New Face of Jordache

Sarah Jessica Paker for Jordache
While flipping through the August issue of People StyleWatch, I came across an ad showing a very svelte Sarah Jessica Parker modeling some curve-hugging Jordache jeans. I'd like to say I owned Jordache jeans back in the eighties when the brand was at its peak but I never really had any of the cool stuff. ("What's wrong with this imitation Cabbage Patch doll? It's just as good as the real thing!" my parents would say). But of course I'm familiar with the once iconic denim brand, with it's wild horse logo. The question is: Can SJP make Jordache cool again?

How to Transition Summer Pieces to Fall: 3 Outfit Ideas on a Budget

How to transition your summer looks to fall with simple swaps
Every day that goes by is another day closer to the end of summer. This can be a good or bad thing, depending on how you feel about your summer wardrobe (I feel like I'm wearing everything on repeat) and how excited you are to start wearing the new fall trends. Either way, it's never too early to think about ways to stretch your summer clothes a little bit further into the season. I always feel sad putting my summer clothes away, but there are savvy ways to save them. Here are three ways to transition your favorite summer pieces into fall once the mercury begins to drop:

Take the Plunge: Kendall Jenner's White Blouse and Cap-Toe Espadrilles Look for Less

Kendall Jenner's white blouse, skinny jeans, cap toe espadrilles and Celine mini luggage tote look for less
Time and time again we see celebs and other stylish folk wearing the simplest basics made special with (say it with me) standout accessories! Kendall Jenner is no exception, rocking a simple white blouse and skinny jeans with cap-toe espadrille flats and a Celine colorblock mini satchel. Just make sure you're wearing fashion tape if you choose to let your blouse plunge low and open so that another set of, erm, accessories doesn't steal the show.

Shop the Celebrity Look for Less:
Mossimo Cap Toe Espadrille Flats, $17.49 (also loving this pair by Kaanas) // Baginc Colorblock Mini Satchel, $79 (this Apt. 9 Satchel gives a similar pop of color for just $17.70) // Forever 21 Skinny Jeans, $29.90 // Isaac Mizrahi Aviators, $48
